The National President of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria visits Promasidor Nigeria

The National President of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) on Thursday, 3 September 2020 paid a visit to the Promasidor Nigeria Head Office in Isolo Lagos. Dr. B.I.C. Brai led a team of three officials of the national society body (including the NSN Chairman, Endorsement Committee and NSN National Secretary) on a working visit to assess the operations of the company with respect to quality food production and to officially endorse Cowbell Milk brands (Cowbell Milk Powder and Cowbell Evap).
While welcoming the NSN team, the Managing Director, Mr Anders Einarsson, spoke of the nutritional benefits of our products, the company’s aggressive local content inclusion drive, which is incomparable to others within the industry, and assured the society that Promasidor takes pride in their partnership.
During their interactive session, the President, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Dr Brai, explained the role of nutritionists in product quality and endorsement. He gave insights into the relevance of having such endorsements as a means of building trust with consumers. He also explained that the body is not one that victimises or scrutinises its clients’ internal processes, its major concern is to ensure that whatever claim is made on the packaging of a product is what is packed for the consumers. He also reiterated that the society is not a rubber stamp agency, as the integrity of the body is at stake on every endorsement seal it approves for any product. Hence the importance of ensuring that the result of the laboratory report is satisfactory and conforms with any claim made on the quality of the product by the manufacturers.
The Category Manager, Dairy and Cereal, Mr Olayinka Vincent, highlighted the nutritional values of our Cowbell brands. Likewise, its impact on the economy of Nigeria as it transformed from a little-known brand in 1993 to a household name with the target of making milk affordable to all class of citizens. On the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the brand’s annual Secondary School Mathematics competition - Cowbellpedia was also brought forth for emphasis. After deliberations, the team were led by the Head, Dry Production Engineering – Engr. Adenola Quadri on a factory tour for further assessment.
Speaking on behalf of the team after the inspection, the Secretary – Mrs Amaka Nwaora appreciated the company’s efforts towards a clean factory environment, good warehouse practices, maintaining noise levels within recommended range and good manufacturing practices. They expressed their appreciation to PNG management and promised to foster their partnership bid with PNG.
