Promasidor South Africa devotes 67 minutes to the community

Neslon Mandela spent 67 years making the world a better place. To honour his legacy, people are encouraged to give 67 minutes of their time on his birthday to do something good for those less fortunate than themselves.

On the 18th July 2013 the Promo team in KZN and the Promo team in Gauteng came together with the staff of the Umhlanga Sands Resort to host a 67-minute promo at Waterloo Primary School in Verulam, KZN.

The Drink-O-Pop Kid-O team from both regions hosted their usual ‘Bullying’ Show and presentation on Kid-O. We also added in a drinking competition where 6 learners competed against each other to see who could drink a Kid-O the fastest. Learners also did a dancing competition and received numerous prizes for participating.

The staff at Umhlanga Sands Resort also interacted with their popular song ‘Follow the Leader” and managed to get Prenelan Subrayan from the U19 Dolphins Cricket Team to join in the fun. Prenelan then batted and bowled to some of the learners and together they donated cricket bats, balls and wickets to the school.

Each learner also received a Kid-O from us and interacted nicely with our Mascot “Kid-O the Hippo” Plenty of fun was had by all, and we were happy to leave smiles on their faces.
