Promasidor Nigeria celebrates World Food Safety Day
Promasidor Nigeria today joined the world in celebrating the 2022 World Food Safety Day within the company premises in Isolo, Lagos. Every year on June 7, world Food Safety Day is commemorated to raise awareness about food and water pollution around the world.
A seminar was organised by our Quality Assurance Department to commemorate the day and to discuss the theme for this year’s celebration at the Workshop department. Mr Bayo Wilson, a renowned Food Safety Practitioner delivered a lecture on “Safer Food; Better Health” to enlighten our workers on the importance of food safety and its implication on our health and well being.
Mr Bayo, during his presentation commended the management of Promasidor Nigeria for the measures put in place that ensure food safety during production and which automatically prevent the risk of food borne disease in our community. After the session, a short quiz was conducted to determine the level of understanding about food safety from the lecture.
Our Quality Assurance Department (Q.A) organised an awareness tour within our premises by going from one factory to the other and into our warehouses to sensitise workers about the importance of food safety. Our Technical Director, Mr Jean Robert Thouanel who met with the group expressed his happiness at the turnout and the awareness created by the procession. He encouraged all to see PNG food safety measures as a collective responsibility
During the procession banners were displayed with different messages creating awareness about the essence of food safety.
