Promasidor mourns the tragic passing of Herve Lekemo

Hervé Brice Kenfack Lekemo died tragically in a train crash in Cameroon on the 21st October 2016. Hervé was appointed Group Marketing Category Director in January 2015. He leaves his wife, Carole and their three children Channel, Tony and Esther.

Hervé’s professional career started in 2002 in the British American Tobacco group in Cameroon. He also worked for Nestle West and Central Africa, and was based in Ghana. Before joining Promasidor, he was Sales and Marketing Director of Unipal Central Africa. He had already travelled to most countries in the Promasidor group during the last 22 months, sharing his vast experience and expertise.

Paul Rose and Daniel de Suza joined the Promasidor Cameroon management team in Douala and travelled to his native village of Bafou for the funeral. Eulogies offered by friends, family and colleagues testified to the tremendous talent he possessed, both as a professional and as a community leader. Hervé completed his MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France from 2008 to 2009. It was there that he committed himself to the development of Africa, vowing never to seek employment outside of the continent. Among other initiatives, Hervé hosted a local radio show in Douala, which gave business advice to budding entrepreneurs and career guidance to young people finding their way in the world. He had a life ambition of playing a leading role in helping improve the governance of the administration of his country and the continent. His high level of energy, integrity, competence combined with modesty and respect of his fellow men and women were just some of the many attributes that Hervé demonstrated during his life.

The Promasidor group has lost an extremely valuable member of our senior management and we are all saddened by his passing. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues.
