Promasidor Ghana Puts a smile on the faces of hundreds of children with cleft lips

Promasidor Ghana has donated cash and products to support the latest medical mission by Operation Smile, an international medical charity with
renowned medical surgeons who provide free surgeries for children and young adults in deprived communities who are born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
The medical mission was conducted at the Koforidua regional hospital with over a hundred and forty children benefiting from the sponsorship package from Promasidor Ghana.
The donation forms part of the many CSR activities by the company in promoting the holistic development of
society. Prior to the medical mission, beneficiaries were engaged in a nutritional program with Promasidor supplying all dairy products used.
Speaking in an interview, marketing manager of Promasidor Ghana, Mr.Shine Akiem Torsoo, emphasized the need for such support. “As a company that is committed to giving back to society, CSR activities form an integral part of our engagement with society. We believe that communities that we operate in should not only benefit from the nutritional value of the quality products we supply but also from an investment in other aspects of their lives, and that is why we support initiatives like this. We can only encourage other businesses like ours to follow suit,” Mr. Torsoo explained.
During a visit by the delegation from PGL to the mission site, beneficiaries of the project, especially mothers of children who were treated, expressed
their profound gratitude to Promasidor for the support and pleaded for more such initiatives. The team from PGL was given a tour of the mission camp and taken through the stages involved in treating children with cleft lips and palates.
