The event was supported by Promasidor's dairy brands (Miksi & Cowbell). Each bearer received assorted Cowbell and Miksi products and souvenirs in exchange for passing on the Baton. In a carnival atmosphere, the relay commenced with a high spirited British High Commissioner crossing the Cowbell Start line before passing the Baton. The Relay began in the early part of October 2021, once Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II placed her message to the Commonwealth into the Baton. The Baton will travel for 294 days, connecting communities in every corner of the Commonwealth, embracing unique cultures and sharing stories.
The 2022 Commonwealth Games is scheduled to take place in Birmingham, the United Kingdom.
