Promasidor Ghana honours commitment to support the construction of Defence against coastal erosion in Ada-Azizakpe

Residents of Azizakpe in the Ada East district have welcomed the support of Promasidor Ghana and Azar Paints to procure sandbags for the protection of the island village against coastal erosion. The project, which is fully funded by both companies, involves the dredging of sand into 20 pieces of a 20 X 8.6 metre geo-textile tubes to serve as defence for the island. In a brief ceremony to present the geo-textile sand tubes, National Event & PR Executive, Mr. Gideon Kodo, said, the project forms part of the community support initiative by the business to improve the quality of life and address the threat of erosion to the community. He further stated that the intervention is timely as several houses and livelihoods on the Azizakpe Island had been lost because of the gradual erosion of the land. Receiving the sand tubes on behalf of the Azizakpe residents, Chief of the Island, Nene Daniel Toku Out, recounted the tragic loss of homes and properties as a result of the erosion. He took the opportunity to shower blessings on PGH for the support.
