Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) Inspects Ikun Dairy Farm (IDF)
The Director along with the Senior Veterinary Officer of NAQS, Dr. Momodu Aisha were received at the farm by IDF General Manager, Mr Hermann Kibler and his team. The General Manager took the inspectors round the farm for critical assessment and endorsement. Amongst the infrastructure inspected were the Farm Houses, milking parlour, laboratory, offices, Processing unit, Silage bunker and feeds store.
Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Service is a regulatory agency under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development that aims at preventing the propagation of animal and plant diseases. Their objective in IDF is to witness the facility’s readiness to receive, take proper care of the in-coming animals for proper dairy purposes and a final regulatory process step prior to importation approval.
The representatives from NAQS were visibly satisfied with the structure of IDF and promised a prompt presentation of their inspection results.
