Mixwell donates back-to-school packs to Malian orphans
Mali’s primary school enrolment rate is low, because families are unable to cover the cost of uniforms, books, supplies, and other fees. Consequently, Mixwell, in partnership with ASSOS (Sahel orphans support association) organized a ceremony in Tombouctou.
We donated back-to-school packs to 1500 orphans, with each pack containing school bags, copybooks, pens, pencil cases and pencils. The ceremony took place on January 9th in Segou. The governor of the city, the president of the association and our local representative presided over the ceremony and over 400 residents attended.
Orphans of all age could now go back to school with the needed items. The population of Segou ended the event by thanking the brand for providing quality products and supporting education. The event was also aired on local TV stations.
