Drink-o-Pop creates awareness around the lack of sanitary towels in South Africa

Drink O Pop launched a Campaign in August called #OwnYourStain for women’s month. The idea behind the stain came from how kids consume Drink-O-Pop on their palms and it stains. Our aim was to create awareness about the lack of sanitary towels in South Africa for young girls and kill the stigma behind menstruation being “disgusting” or “dreadful”. We reached out to our followers and fans through all our social media platforms and asked them to join our campaign by donating sanitary towels to a school of their choice and sharing their good deeds with us.
The stain represents the actual stain that girls experience during their menstruation and how embarrassed they feel when it occurs due to how others treat them. We incorporated our products using the different colours to encourage young girls to be proud of the stain by picking a colour from our Drink-O-Pop colours to help them express themselves.
