Cowbell marks World Milk Day with nutritional assessment programme for schoolchildren in Ghana

As part of activities marking the World Milk Day celebration for the year 2021, Cowbell has organised a nutritional assessment programme for 700 schoolchildren in the nation’s capital.

The event, which was organised in partnership with Child First Initiative Foundation and the 37 Military Hospital, saw schoolchildren undergo a nutritional assessment with emphasis on protein intake and other essential nutrients.

Activities for the day also included screening for other child-related health issues by the health personnel from the Hospital.

Dieticians from the 37 military hospital took the children through a dietary talk and the importance of milk as a global food, and further educated the children on healthy eating habits and other dietary issues.

Speaking in an interview, Brand Manager for Cowbell, Joseph Ashong, re-iterated the need to advocate for the introduction of milk in the diet of  schoolchildren. He further expressed Cowbell’s commitment to support initiatives and campaigns that promote the consumption of milk amongst children,  and pledged to provide free Cowbell milk for children identified to be malnourished after the completion of the health assessment.
