Abigail Hanseen wins Onga Jollof rice battle at just 13 years of age

Abigail Hansen has won the ultimate prize for the 2020 edition of the Onga Jollof Rice Battle at just 13 years of age. A brief ceremony was held on the premises of PGH where Abigail received the award. Brand Manager of Onga, Mrs Linda Nartey said that even though the brand could not organise a physical event because of COVID-19, she was impressed with the entries that came in from the online edition of the Onga Jollof Battle. She also took the opportunity to congratulate all winners of the tournament and assured patrons that the brand will organise more engaging content for consumers in the future.
Abigail took home Onga goodies and a cash prize of 2,000 Ghana Cedis for emerging as the ultimate winner of the competition. Nana Adwoa Frempomaa and Ethel Kumassah won the 2nd and 3rd position and were presented with Onga goodies and cash prizes of 1,500 Cedis and 1,000 Cedis respectively. 70 more contestants were presented with goodie bags from the brand as consolation prizes. The Jollof battle was preceded by a free jollof giveaway campaign, which received almost 10,000 entries from social media.
