Promasidor is pleased to be sponsoring Ifedolapo
Ayoyinka Omiwole - our very first student at the African
Leadership Academy (ALA). Situated in Johannesburg,
South Africa, the ALA is a non-profit organization
that brings together gifted 16-19 year olds, who
have already shown exceptional leadership qualities,
from all 54 African nations. The innovative two-year
programme is designed to build the foundations for
students to become Africa’s future leaders, with the
curriculum focusing on leadership, entrepreneurship
and African studies. Over the next 50 years, the ALA’s
objective is to build 6 000 leaders for Africa. Ife, as
she is known, has had, by all accounts, an exceptional
first year, performing top of her class in Economics,
Mathematics and Entrepreneurship, proving her skills
as the CFO of the on-campus, student-run Chani’s
Café. All ALA students will go on to attend the world’s
best universities, before they take up leadership roles
in their own country, which, in Ife’s case, would be
Nigeria.
We’re delighted with Ife’s exceptional progress so far, and will be giving her all the support we can,
both now and in the future. Promasidor sees the ALA
programme as an essential part of our philosophy of
giving back to the countries in which we operate and
helping to bring positive change to Africa. We hope
to always have at least one student in the programme
at all times. In our next
issue, you will learn
more about Ife and the
ALA.
